‘The only influence Japan has over Korea nowadays would be through its pop culture (anime, jpop and food), nearly nothing from the colonial era. The only places you’ll see Japanese words would be at tourist attractions and Japanese food establishments probably.

Meanwhile, Taiwan still retains some Japanese influence due to being a Japanese colony from 1895 to 1945, whereas Korea was only a Japanese colony from 1910 to 1945. Also, the Japanese wanted to make Taiwan a model colony, so they heavily invested in its infrastructure (coal mines, onsens and cities). Till today, there are several Japanese loan words in colloquial Taiwanese Mandarin and Hokkien. Some old folks nowadays (or till recently at least, they’re sadly dying out) could only speak Japanese and Hokkien/Hakka, no Mandarin.
