‘What I think is interesting is the states that have German in the top 2 and the states that have Italian in the top 2 are almost mutually exclusive (only Pennsylvania has both). Those 2 groups of states cover almost the whole US– only the northern 3 New England states and about half the former Confederate states have neither ancestry in the top 2’
